Someone will challenge me on this, but I think something that goes unappreciated in Zelda is that the races and species twist or sidestep the stock Tolkien "human heroes, snobby elves, drunk dwarves" etc.
There are even distinct tribes and cultures, generally informed by agriculture/land/etc

The fact that I can’t see any tendons on Samus’s suit in Ravenous makes me think the Metroid DNA infusion just permanently altered its appearance. Or at least its color scheme.

My only real complaint about the OoT remake is that even though Matt Mercer is a great voice actor, everyone knows that Ganondorf is a Clancy Brown role.
