I still have the queasy feeling Trump is going to try some desperate stunt in the closing weeks of campaign season that is self evidently ludicrous, but large swaths of the press will treat seriously. I don't think it will work, but it will nevertheless drive us nuts to watch unfold.
Really feels like Iran turning the screws and pushing gas to, say, $5-6 a gallon puts us in pretty uncharted waters, politically. So far the global oil infrastructure has proven to be remarkably resilient so maybe that doesn't happen, but doesn't look great!

The entire Louisiana political apparatus is useless.
But Musk and Zuckerberg get property tax exemptions to build massive industrial projects here.
Louisiana has a 19.7% poverty rate over the last 3 years (2023, 2024, 2025). Nearly 910,000 Louisianans out of ~4.6M (about 20%) live below the poverty line. The U.S. national poverty rate over the same time period was 10.7%.

Big news: The family of Tierra Walker, who died after she couldn't get an abortion, is suing a slate of Texas actors in state court, including AG Ken Paxton. They say the state ban is unconstitutional.
This is the first suit of its kind.
