The Amy Acton thing hits me in all kinds of ways, but here's an important one: A lot of survivors get accused of "seeking attention" when they speak out, as if that's a bad thing. Hellyeah we're seeking attention! We deserve it! We've been traumatized and need healing.

I finished Furious & it's devastating. Some of us walk through life with profound trauma that just never gets talked about because if we did talk about it, our lives would unravel. & sadly, we don't live in a world where unraveling is accommodated or supported.
I'm 3 episodes into Furious & so far the biggest theme is that women pay for men's mistakes, missteps, misdeeds, & indiscretions with their mental health, physical well-being, & sometimes literally their lives. Men are allowed to recover & return but women are forced to bear the emotional labor
