This sculpture, called “The Eighth and Final Fire,” was created by Jaimie Isaac for the Forks in Winnipeg. Anishinaabe prophecy foretold the coming of settlers to Turtle Island and predicted the complex relationships with Indigenous Peoples and the land. The future would be evolutionary and rising.
