As ive said before, Robert Reich is the minimum level of progressive needed to not be part of the problem. He is an excellent touchstone for progressive ideology. Look for whom he endorses and encourages as a guide post for the future

Levy a special tax on any company whose workers are on social welfare equal to twice what the government spends. We have the data to do so.
Idea: no corporate welfare, subsidies, or government contracts for corporations whose employees need to rely on government assistance because of low wages.
