It’s copshit. The Cory Doctorow point is also a good one. It’s a tool that breaks solidarity. It puts teachers on the side of tech companies against their students.
As just one example: GPTZero, one of the most popular detection services, is owned by Superhuman AI (text generation), who also owns Humanize AI (detection avoidance).

Dolly proudly, to the end of her days, described her style as "trashy" and that's just one reason i will love her forever
I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.
