I love Carsten’s work but I’m not sure what to make of these reworkings of Sakamoto’s 12 album. He’s more than qualified (as a friend and regular collaborator) but that album was perfect and deeply moving due to the circumstances it was made under. I don’t think this adds to the beauty or power.

The only thing I can think of more exciting than this on Jools Holland was that wildly chaotic At the Drive In performance.

Hoping that at some point his solo albums will be treated with the same reverence as Talk Talk’s later albums.
For me Secrets of the Beehive is just as magnificent as Spirit of Eden.

Having been lucky enough to have owned an ARP Odyssey, Prophet 5, Oberheim OB-8, Hydrasynth etc I can honestly say I’ve had more fun and generated ‘better’ sounds with Slate + Ash Cycles and Choreographs software.

My love/hate relationship with the Lyra-8 is currently in a very long and pronounced hate period. Every time I switch it on I wonder why the fuck I ever bought it. I’ve tried drenching it in effects and I still can get back that loving feeling. Any tips from Lyra-8 users who still get on with it?
