I wish people would realize that there aren't really any universal truths when it comes to both how pixel art was and is displayed or was and is enjoyed. Different devs did things in different ways because they had different tools or equipment or objectives or techniques.

what I was talking about in the previous thread kinda ties into what happened with TADC/gooseworx. this growing idea that art should be made for the audience primarily, and that the audience is allowed to dictate who is Eligible to make stuff. bothers me (but similar ides around art always have)

I feel like Gamers™️ have this annoying thing where they think the only people who should be around games/have opinions are nolifers with thousands of hours in a single game (or very small set of similar games) and Provable Skill Cred and like I dont know if I agree man

I kind of feel bad they feel this way about themself. I think the mythical adult millennials wish they were , never really existed. And as funny as it sounds, I think it takes a pretty emotionally mature person to see the philosophical merit to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

So for sonic's 35th yesterday I played the ORIGINAL game: no mods, no ports, no savestates (because i never beat the game like this before) and finished it in one sitting. its good and cool! and its not as awkward as i feared (yes i had played S1 before)
