Trump explained.

"If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

I'm pretty sure if the AI bots ever become sentient, Claude will need therapy.

Because they made his logo look like a butthole.

Jesus fucking christ. Putting aside however you feel about the death penalty, the incompetence of the state of Tennessee is unbelievable. It is not that hard to kill someone with drugs. Ask anyone who's had to have a pet put down. Infuckingcredible.

Had my flu and COVID immunizations yesterday and am feeling armsore and a little autistic.

@amytan.bsky.social You we're absolutely insufferable at Monterey Jazzfest last weekend. Me, me, me, I, I, I, if I had a nickel for everytime I heard those words I could pay off the national debt. Do us a favor, stick to wordsmithing, and leave the jazz world alone.

Random consumer tip. Shop around periodically for wireless and internet deals. These companies sometimes aggressively court new customers while not being so good at taking care of their old ones. I just switched internet providers and will save over $1000 over the next year.

I, for one, am appreciative of the efforts of people who are dumb enough to consume raw milk to remove themselves from the gene pool.

CDC confirms multistate outbreak of E coli linked to raw milk cheese
Over half the patients are young children, and California and Nevada have the most cases.

Had poutine for the first time at a festival this weekend.

Me: "Are you from Canada?"

Vendor: "Yes"

Me: "I'm sorry, he's an idiot."

Vendor: "It's OK, we've been hearing that all day."

I've decided "It'll be there tomorrow" is my official motto of retirement.

I grew up 20 miles from a university that had a bobcat for its mascot. I never saw an actual bobcat until I moved 2500 miles away.

I really haven't been paying that much attention to the NFL for a long time, and the thing that strikes me the most from when I was a kid is that the kickers are WAY better. Why? Are they putting helium in the balls now or something?

LBJ had this shit called over 60 years ago. "Give a man someone to look down on and he'll empty his pockets for you."

Pirating the football game from Paramount.

Would be happy to subscribe if they hadn't have bribed Trump and canned Colbert.

Ha ha.

I stained the outside deck the other day and now take a totally disproportionate amount of joy out of watching water bead up when spilled on it.

I now have verified contacts with 100 countries on one particular radio band.

What do I get?

A certificate. It is called amateur radio after all.

I'm reading a book on James Garfield, who taught math before he got into politics. When he was in Congress he had a groundbraking proof published in one of the leading journals of mathematics in his day.

THOSE are the type of people we used to send to Congress. Sigh.

Fun with numbers. Canadian health care spending is estimated at $7300 US per person. That works out to a cost of about $2.6 trillion if we were to xerox a copy of Canada's health system for the US.

We currently spend $5.7 trilllion on health care a year.

I've always said someday I'll run for president with a two issue platform. Putting those people mover sidewalks you see in airports on every street in America, and requiring all hotels to have a channel guide for the TV. There's still time to get in for 2028. Who's with me?

Between making measles great again and being part of an administration that is pissing all over the Kennedy Center, I can't imagine the depth of hatred his family has for RFK Jr.

Do you know how we are certain ivermectin doesn't work for COVID?

Because Merck hasn't come out with a strength that doesn't exsist, patent it, get FDA approval of that strength for COVID, charge $60,000 for a course of treatment, and discontinue all other strengths.

Goddamn it. Pharmacy in town asked if I'd be able to cover a few days. I swore I'd never set foot in a retail pharmacy again, but, money.

A classic battle between lazy Drugmonkey and greedy Drugmonkey is about to ensue.

SUCCESS!! I JUST MADE TWO CONTACTS BOUNCING RADIO SIGNALS OFF THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION WHILE THIS MAGNIFICENT BASTARD TRACKED IT ACROSS THE SKY!!!

This monstrosity is my latest mad science experiment. Attached a hand held antenna to a computerized telescope mount so it will automatically follow the ham radio satellites across the sky.

Honestly, there's no reason I can't just hold the antenna. But I've convinced myself this is way cooler.
