I'm always amused by the way humans fetishize "walking upright," "tool use," and "language" as the iconic features of a superior species. And of course we ignore or downplay the obvious signs of all three in every other species. "They only walk upright SOMETIMES. Not like a true upright walker."

I heard skylarks singing over Craighill this morning. First I’ve heard this year - they seem early to me. Below is from March three years back (by when they were well into full voice). Whenever though, it is always an uplifting and reassuring sound..

'Comma of Didymus' will screen in Edinburgh at the Cameo on Dec 15th. I have *no idea* how you'd get a ticket - organisers not very forthcoming! Turn up and say hi if you're near, I guess? But nice to be part of a screening in t' old hame toon anyway! 🙂
