You can’t do much better than living your life in such a way that the internet is flooded with posts of tribute to your humanity and musicianship. This one hits where it hurts, but the depth and breadth of appreciation I’m seeing this morning is inspiring.

It’s absolutely criminal, and I cannot support any artist, musician, or actor who partakes. It needs to stop.
I genuinely hate the push to make smoking a thing again.
I have watched so many drawn out, ugly, painful deaths from smoking. It makes everything disgusting. It enslaves us to the worst kinds of corporations. There’s ZERO positive here.

No one asked me, and few people will see this, but I’ve always preferred the word “queer” to “gay”. I’ve never fit into anyone’s norms, so a label that’s a synonym for odd feels the most appropriate. It can also replace all the letters in the ever-growing initialism that has never worked for me.

Any headline that starts with “Trump concedes” is journalistic malpractice.
Maybe “Trump temporarily gives in” or “Trump appears to concede”. The man is as inconstant as a toddler.

Been listening to a lot of old Son Volt lately, and I’ve enjoyed being reminded of why I love Jay Farrar’s songwriting so much.
I gotta say… of all the songs that I wish weren’t still relevant, “Atmosphere” is near the top:
