Sort of insane fact about how broken US urban planning is—America now spends more building *just the lights for roads and highways* than on all subways & ground mass transit combined

Spending on roadway *pavement* is 18x transit spending

the scarborough busway should inspire the city to look into longer, more permanent busways on available right-of-ways that can produce rapid transit speeds at cheaper cost and timelines.

the one with greatest potential, i think, is finch east. this would transform east-west travel in scarborough.

I would be incredibly upset if Toronto gave up on its street festivals. They’re really important for the neighbourhoods and the businesses that host them. They’re very popular.

You just can’t police your way out of the problem of overcrowding and acts of violence.

Toronto’s streets are where we celebrate. Must we give that up to feel safe?
The streets are ours. After the shooting at Salsa on St. Clair and a weekend of violence, how do we keep them that way?

Just completed the public consultation for the Billy Bishop airport. Let's just say the framing of the questions was, something.

“Public consultation” on Billy Bishop expansion.

These survey questions suggest to me that this is a done deal.
