Medications don’t work if patients can’t afford or access them. Reform solutions have been designed w/o listening to WHY patients are struggling, so the benefits don’t put patients 1st. We aim to change that! The patients have spoken: bit.ly/3NDKkUP

Affordability isn’t just about the price of Rx. Our new patient-led data shows that affordability is about insurance barriers, income & life changes. Context matters. When policies ignore patient reality, they miss the root causes of hardship. bit.ly/3NDKkUP #PatientWhy

“There’s just a real ingrained fear because I’m always wondering if the insurance company is going to come back to me and say, ‘Well, this is less expensive for us, so you have to be on this,’” Tiffany Westrich-Robertson, founder of EACH/PIC Coalition. zurl.co/o9ipy
Colorado just became the first state to cap the price of a prescription drug. What comes next is uncertain.
The Colorado Prescription Drug Affordability Review Board imposed a first-in-the-nation price cap on the drug Enbrel, starting in 2017.

We are disappointed the CO PDAB ignored patient voices and adopted an unproven UPL that risks new barriers to care. Patients deserve policies that actually lower out-of-pocket costs.

Patients deserve policies that fix what really drives unaffordability: PBMs, insurance barriers, & lack of assistance. UPLs miss the mark.
