Yesterday was my last day at my Big Tech job and after 10 years, I'm going on a career break. I was a Sr. Technical Program Manager at Twitch, an Amazon subsidiary. Before that, I was at Curse. I worked on unionforgamers.com, Twitch TV apps, Twitch Studio (rip), & Safety ML eng.

nobody warns you that when you have a toddler you have to be vigilant around Halloween to ensure there's no traumatizing decorations at stores before visiting, only place safe is IKEA, not Costco, not home Depot, etc, I've never thought about this before

my 2.5-year-old can sing the full "excavator song" from blippi. on one hand, i feel bad (b/c of the amount of TV she's watched to get to this point) but otoh, i'm so proud. 🥲

unfortunate that twitter is where WoW mutuals & creators are; on one hand, choice of diverse platforms good, otoh, for small biz owner, u need to engage on all of them 🥲 i have no idea how to use tiktok and have notifs turned off, only on there to self-promote 🙃 going all in b4 i need to find a job

I've been funemployed for almost 4 months and i learned something about myself: i can't relax and can't not always think of things to build or make or try in certain mediums, and when i do officially retire (if any of us are lucky to), i think I'll keep myself just as busy if not more than before.

finally downloading wow again lol. couldn't log in (because the last time i logged in was when we still had a standalone Authenticator app, separate from battle.net app) and i was scared i lost everything. but now, happily dreaming. maybe i can finally put the "break" in "career break"!!
