Glad this ridiculous attempt to challenge such a successful policy has been rejected. Performative nonsense from Reform.

I pointed out ALL of those wide 20mph benefits in my interview for this article, but of course my answers were heavily cherry picked to fit the frustrating 'balanced' format which gives equal balance to those with a grudge against reducing speeds and adding a few seconds onto their journey times.
More "balance" crap from the BBC.
It's well known now that 20mph:
Reduces pollution.
Reduces collisions and casualty rates as well as deaths.
Reduces insurance costs.

But they "balance" against some impatient drivers who "get frustrated". That's just bad driving.

Why are more towns and cities moving to 20mph?
Many councils are turning to 20mph limits, but questions remain over the benefits across the UK.

I grew up in Kingsmead, attending Wheatcroft School and spending my childhood exploring our green spaces. Now, I'm proud to be raising a family here. I will work hard to work with you all to continue to build a community we can all be proud of.

I’m delighted to be standing as the Green Party candidate for Kingsmead in the East Herts District Council by-election.

Since the Green party took the lead at District and Town councils, our Town and community have seen rapid improvement after years of decline.

Congratulations to Donna Reeves for the brilliant new Ware Art Trail, which transformed utility cabinets with designs inspired by local wildlife.

Our Wilder Communities Officer Kate was delighted to support some of the school workshops that helped inspire the artwork. 💚

It really is time for change at Buntingford Town Council. Vote for Roy Ballam. No publicly contested elections for 15 years represents a massive democratic deficit. Time for proper representation and councillors who’ll work hard with and on behalf of our local community.

Great conversations and a great candidate for the Buntingford Town Council by-election on 24 September. Really important as this is the first opportunity for residents to vote for a town council seat since 2011. FIFTEEN YEARS without a publicly contested election for any town council seat!
Lots of good conversations in Buntingford on Saturday and again today at the Monday Market

Residents say they are pleased with the difference we’re making, and how we are already supporting the community. 💚

Help us build on this by voting Roy Ballam in the by-election on Thursday 24th September
