I'm alive! These are additional models for units I've already painted. I'm slowly building my way up to 2000 points of Vampire Counts, and this is part of the last chunck.
As always, basing will be done once the whole 500pts are done.

5 Skeletons with hand weapons, 11 Skeletons with spears and a Bat swarm. Skeletons are a mix of the Deathrattle skeletons and Cursed City models. The two skeletons that look like they're rising from the grave are part of the base of the GW mounted vampire lord. As part of moving him to a square base, they needed to be removed, so I repurposed them. This bat swarm is made out of a Cursed City bat and High Falconer Felgryn. I really struggled painting him, but am relatively happy with how he turned out in the end.

Cursed fanfic idea: Batman, Ankh-Morkpork style.
Young Sam Vimes becomes an orphan raised by Willikins, fighting the crimes the Watch can't touch. His main foe is obviously a graduate of the Fool's Guild, expelled after blatant misuse of the traditional props. He's know on the streets as the Hippo.

As a quick side project, I did these Warriors of the Dead Why? Because the only primer I still had was green, and these were the only ones I felt like painting that wanted that primer.
However, it seems I can't get away from undead, no matter the system.

Spurred by a friend completing their Garden of Morr, I decided to paint the great cannon with an oxidized bronze effect.

Imperial Great Cannon and crew. The crew are mostly in the red and black of Nuln, which is to be expected, as most of the cannon of the Empire come the great foundry located there Close-up of the gun barrel. Base is screaming bell. The a very watered-down wash of a 1/1 mix of lothern blue and straken green. Finally, a light drybrush of retributor armour in order to lighten the edges. Crew member. Although the overal paintjob is quick and hamfisted, I kind of like how the hair and the landsknecht style pants turned out.

A captain for my Averlanders. Model is a repurposed Glaurio ven Alten from Cursed City. I'm very happy with how he turned out and he was remarkably quick to paint.

Starting on the second chunk of my Empire force. It's mostly still going to be Averlanders, but not ruling out that there might be some reinforcement from Nuln.

A regiment of 23 halberdiers bearing shields. They are painted in the color of Averland; mostly black with yellow plumes and one yellow sleeve and pant leg. They have a full command group, including a champion with a two-handed sword. Individual member of the regiment. He has a yellow shield bearing a black cross under a skull. Attached to his armour is a piece of either with cloth or parchment, with text on it. The champion of the halberdier regiment Befitting his statue, he is the only one with gilding on his weapon. He's also wearing gloves and his shirt is of a demonstrable better quality than the rest of his regiment. For some reason, however, he's not wearing shoes. This is in the most technical sense a conversion, as the arms come from the Empire Greatsword set.

Recently started a re-watch of the LotR film, and it inspired me get quickly these done. Picked them up during a visit to Warhammer World earlier this year.

A miniature of Frodo, painted with transparant paint, to get the invisible effect. All Ring-bearers: young Bilbo, old Bilbo, Gollum, Frode and Isildur. They're the Warhammer World versions made of clear resin, so very little work was needed.

Incidentally, this is the 100th miniature I've painted this year.

A wraith leader, made from an unconverted Grimghast Reaper. He's been painted to look as if the spirit under the cloak is made of fire, slowly tapering of as it gets farther from its head until the end of it is just dark smoke.

It took some time, but here's the Riders of Wrath; Hexwraiths made from the souls of those who wished for magical power as they were burned alive by witch hunters.
Almost done with the ghostly detachment, only need to add the leader.

A unit of five Hexwraith models, converted from Dreadblade Hallows, with their swords replaced by scythes from Grimghast Reapers. The mounts are painted to resemble skull-faced horses, tapering off in red and yellow flames. The riders are painted as spirits of fire, also tapering off, but they wear black cloaks with red trim, to denote the fact they hold on to some aspects of their previous personality. Side-shot of one of the models to show the details more. Painting this was an absolute pain, and the goal I had in mind is far above my (current) skill level, but this is as good as I can get it.

The Burning Host, souls of those burned at the stake returned to the world of the living by Necromancy.

So, I applied paint to models again. These bat swarms are sourced from Cursed City, High Falconer Felgryn's pet and Soulblight Manifestations.
I foresee more swarms in the near future.

The magical energy has been painted to resemble fire Four bases of bat swarms, with models sourced from Cursed City, Soulblight Manifestations and the Corpse-Eater Falconer's pet. Base of bat swarms, with the bats coming from cursed city. There's also a hanged skeleton pointing the way, also from cursed city. I think the hanged man is a reference to something, although I'm not able to recall where from. If anyone knows, please let me know, because it's driving me nuts

I couldn't find any motivation at all to paint during May. It took a couple of weeks before I managed to apply paint to models. I tried to get this finished yesterday, but my need to sleep sometimes means it didn't get done until today.
