Honestly I no longer care if the entire video game industry crashes and burns soon. There are decades worth of amazing existing games that I've never played and they'll run on the hardware I already have.

Y'all, Evo dying in the ugliest possible way is sad, but the FGC is in no danger. The basic physics of fighting game interest mean grassroots events will never, simply cannot, die en masse. Event prices keep rising even as we careen toward recession, which will encourage more regionalism. It's fine!

seeing people actually installing linux this week after getting sick of big tech's perversion of the computer is unironically giving me hope. we can live in harmony with the computer when we don't let parasites in big tech put their evil sludge in it

It's hard to even post about hobbies when every hobby feels like it's in a constant state of investor-induced freefall.

Not full on spiraling, but like having A Moment over the idea of not being able to buy a computer again. The thing that has been somewhat commonplace to how we view work and entertainment with the house. Gone! Sorry, that consumer electronic is now a couple tax brackets above you. Tough break, kid

western media spent idk like 20 years fearmongering about china's Social Credit System (which doesn't even work the way most ppl think it does anyway) only for the US and UK to legally implement actual orwellian laws because it doesn't like you having free access to the ahegao tags on gelbooru
