I had so much fun sharing #CelticTales in the @edbookfest.bsky.social schools programme a couple of weeks ago. The pupils had splendid ideas for monster-defeating stories, and asked lots of excellent questions! (illustrations and cover art by @elisecillustration.com ) @discoverkelpies.bsky.social

Placeholder assets in a game should look obnoxiously temporary, so obvious that no one would mistake it for the final asset. In past games we've used the doge dog (rip) as an icon, hot pink versions of characters, our CEO's head, etc.

If you use a temp asset that seems passable, it may stay there.

I did a short course as a part-time student at the Edinburgh Atelier of Fine Art! My whole eight weeks (Fridays from 12-5) was going this copying exercise/bargue. Never done anything like this before and I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would!
