Just like Michael Corleone in the (underrated) Godfather III, just when I think I'm done with beer, they drag me back in.

I'M HOSTING A BEER HISTORY TALK!

In December, I'll be talking the history of Brussels in 3 beers - and as a teaser I've pulled out my favourite story from the archives
#220: Brewing City
Or, when Wiels was Wielemans, Brussels’ brewing behemoth

Just your typical bike plan for a street redesign in Brussels, which looks to have been draft by people that, at best, have seen a bike in the distance.

God forbid we would fundamentally alter a road layout, better just to fiddle on the margins and make everyone unhappy

The revolution will not be motorised.
Zomaar een willekeurige dag in oktober, en intussen zijn al meer dan 70.000 fietsers geteld in Brussel! Om dat wat te kaderen: we gingen tot nu nog maar drie keer over die grens.
Day of record in BXL for October @ 10PM:

What's the issue, we're only talking about one or two bottles here
A man who admitted to stealing at least €7,000 worth of luxury perfume from Brussels Airport claimed he did it for the thrill, but prosecutors suspect he was reselling it.

It really sucks when you've grown up in a Catholic country, but you've gone to a Protestant school - you can't enjoy anything!
That stupid post about "protestants think pleasure is bad and catholics think suffering is good" has ruined suffering for me

That France didn't win the World Cup just shows what a team Spain are. Just killers all over the pitch. And the bench.

Michael Olise should be illegal. Thank god he didn't declare for England.

Off to get another wee chunk sliced off my back tomorrow. Kids, do as the man in the song said, and wear sunscreen!

GOOD MORNING! Here's the latest edition of our regular round-up of good reading about beer and pubs. If there's a theme this week it might be about how beer culture changes over time.

Every Saturday we round up the best writing about beer from the past week. This time, we’ve got expired beer, closed taprooms and anti-Kindle sentiment.

Some of us just have never got our pre-Covid juice back.

And that's okay.

Great piece which has got me feeling suite emotional. I also yipped when I heard the news, though in the privacy of my own home. Like Eoghan, I haven’t vibed with the Bailly bar and I will greatly miss BBP Dansaert when it closes its doors.

I know we're not allowed to watch them but this is a level of competency I've rarely seen from an Irish football team.

A boring 2-0 win against Austria? I'll take that.

I bought this "North Face" backpack as an emergency bag on a street corner in Hanoi 14 years ago.

This welk it looks to have finally given up the ghost.

Rest well, you were a great knock-off.
