"Pennsylvania’s Measles Outbreak Is Enormous".

Indeed it is. Given 4 _reported_ deaths from measles and given a 0.1% - 0.3% CFR, the true number of cases - currently reported at 731 - is likely a couple/few thousand.

That is big - and 100% vaccine preventable.

Pennsylvania’s Measles Outbreak Is Enormous
The two latest deaths suggest that the true number of infections is much larger than reported.

It is incumbent upon on Dem digital fundraisers to show us data that echoing GOP assertions that our candidate is struggling and the race is “tightening” helps us win. It may help us raise money but does it help us win?
I know folks need to raise money but Democratic fundraising appeals should not be using these clearly right-aligned polls in their fundraising appeals. It gives the polls legitimacy, and can make our candidates look weak rather than strong - which is the whole intent of this GOP op.
In the past six days six right-aligned pollsters have begun "flooding the zone," releasing eighteen polls in eleven battleground Senate races.

While they've done this before the pace and intensity of this effort is unprecedented, a reflection of their desperation. 1/

Remind your Trumpy acquaintances. The whiplash is funny to watch.
No one in the history of the world has done more than Donald Trump to promote the adoption of alternative energy
“It is unprecedented. We have two major waterways obstructed, active attacks, Iran escalating attacks, proxies being active and no signs of diplomatic talks. It’s a disastrous situation when you’re looking at it from an energy security angle.” www.nytimes.com/2026/09/16/b...

Also, if you're willing to negate an agent's autonomy when its actions are that far afield from its core goals, you've created a definition of "autonomy" that humans flunk, too. Like in some sense most everything I do is to satisfy very basic biological prerogatives, even if the link is attenuated.

As I said the first time Trump proposed tariffs: this is precisely why he likes them! It makes everyone come to him on bended knee, begging for exemptions. It makes economic survival dependent on his whim. That, not any economic theory, is the whole attraction. Mafia boss thinking.
While Sen. Katie Britt was publicly defending Trump's tariffs, she was privately seeking exemptions for 4 companies operating in Alabama that could be hurt by tariffs, according to emails between her staff & Trump's US Trade Representative, obtained via FOIA by @wsj.com. www.wsj.com/opinion/kati...

Can you imagine if White House correspondents had the courage to support each other the way the opening acts on Sheeran's tour are supporting Macklemore...?
One of the coolest things about people who don't have a lot of power taking a principled stand is it lays bare the complete cowardice of the ones who actually *do* have power when they fail to do even a fraction as much.
Unlike Macklemore, these support acts don’t have big followings and they are giving up their chance to perform to stadiums to push back against censorship, not of themselves but of a fellow artist. Respect.

The goal of this new right-aligned polling effort is to make it appear that Senate is slipping away from us. That our candidates are weakening, theirs strengthening. That's there no reason to invest and fight - all is lost.
