When you connect a Waymo ride with a bus route, Waymo will pay your bus fare. Which is useful for two reasons: it helps them curry favor with city governments that might otherwise be wary of self-driving rideshares, and it gives them data about where to provide more cars to replace buses later.

This portrayal of cyclists as some kind of woke menace to the common sense motorist will result in someone getting killed because a driver doesn't see why they should show even the minimum of consideration. The situation is bad enough as it is.
