One big difference, not sufficiently highlighted here, is that, while Biden's economic messaging was largely ineffective, many of his economic policies were, in fact, working pretty well, whereas Trump's policies have been largely unsuccessful even on his terms. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/02/o...

Disastrous decisions right off the bat. Fuck Skydance. Warner Bros. is cooking these days under these two, who genuinely like movies and love making them.

This is a great indicator that this merger is going to ruin EVERYTHING.

Directing DOJ to slow-walk politically damaging decisions until after people vote would be a major scandal under any normal administration. Here, it’s just Friday.

Jack Smith's revelation that Trump paid for the organizers of the Jan 6 insurrection adds one more detail to the picture already in place. But it also darkens the picture. Trump is now competing with John Wilkes Booth for the title of worst American political figure ever. His crime was premeditated.

Cannot be emphasised enough that Trump II will plausibly cause the kind of death count we associate with the worst dictatorships of the last century. Unspeakably bad that he came to be president of the world's most powerful nation.
This can't be talked about enough.

"President Donald Trump's move to cut most of the US funding towards foreign humanitarian aid could cause more than 14 million additional deaths by 2030, according to research published in The Lancet medical journal."

Subverting democracy isn't new to John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, or Amy Coney Barrett.

All three were on George W. Bush's "Florida Recount Team," which lay the groundwork for stopping vote counting in Florida—and Bush v. Gore, the politically-motivated SCOTUS decision that gave Bush the election.
