Calvin Robinson used to show up to protests at a pub near me where the far-right were kicking off at them doing Drag Queen Story Time. They were always massively outnumbered by counter-protestors, and Robinson stopped turning up after he was drowned out by people chanting, "You're Not A Real Vicar!"

Years back, when Robinson was trying to build his profile, parts of the media would try to get black writers with progressive views to debate him and therefore legitimise him. We saw the trick and we mostly avoided him, we knew exactly who he was.
I honestly can’t believe this is what has become acceptable in the U.K. why is he not being charged with hate crime? Twitter is a cesspit of antisemitism (and every other ism)

No, an inadequate sandbox meant that a powerful and unpredictable computer program was set loose on the open internet by the company that designed it. The agency isn't with the "AI agent", it's with the firm

The overhype about ai’s ability to kill humanity seems like it’s partly there to sell the idea of the potential of AI because investor cash is drying up. I think these IPOs are going to be the biggest pump and dump schemes in history.

Maybe the most remarkable novel I've read in a decade is about asylum-seekers in Berlin: "Go, Went, Gone," by Jenny Erpenbeck. It was published 11 years ago.
At the station today I spoke with an asylum seeker who had been in Berlin for four years since moving here from Ghana. It was utterly heartbreaking - the racism he had faced, his desperation to get his papers, to get work. “There is no love here for us. Take care, brother”, he said as we parted.
Travelling through Sachsen-Anhalt, knowing the deep and widespread hatred that exists for black people here. Still, it’s okay, because voters have their “legitimate concerns”. 🙄
