What are you doing with your Friday?
I am making Audrey II decorations for my front porch. As one does.

I have been cleaning out our basement this summer and purging things we no longer need/want, but what exactly am I to do with my college artwork? 🤔
I don't want to get rid of it, but I don't really want to display it either. 😕

Have you ever listened to a band so much while going through a traumatic experience that after the event, you can no longer listen to their music because it brings back all the trauma?
For me, it was The Dave Matthews Band. I haven't listened to any of their music since 1999.

‘When Stars Are Scattered’ moved me to tears. This incredibly touching and beautifully illustrated book touches on big subjects in a well-thought-out and child-appropriate way. It sheds light on a little-talked-about subject and gives us a personal, firsthand account of life as a refugee. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I never believe a manuscript is truly dead. 🪦
It just needs more revision.
And that is why… I solemnly swear I’m using my yummy brain to bring a zombie manuscript back to life. 😊🧟📖

Does anyone else have four different ideas for novels, ranging from YA to Adult thriller, floating around in their head that they can't seem to find the time to start writing?

I have a great PB manuscript that includes bees and their important role as pollinators. 🐝🌸🌻
Today is #WorldBeeDay. Celebrate the role of these pollinators, who are vital to our food supply.

Out of 4,450 applications,
I was one of only 60 people selected for an Honorable Mention!
That feels pretty good. 😊
Thank you so, so much

Living on the Mississippi River I find myself frequently studying the trees and water and mist.
Making these studies over and over again is an enjoyable way to discover the nuisances of different paints, brushes and even water sources.
I’m in my river phase.

This week's library stack.
As a picture book author, I read extensively to educate myself about the market, discover comparable titles, and learn different techniques. Plus, I genuinely enjoy reading well-crafted picture books! 😉🥰
