Spawn of a Greater Erk. I really only want to talk about ttrpgs
I get the OSR conceit of "adventurers are wandering scoundrels", but it doesn't appeal to me. What about a game where the PCs are knights-errant or roaming gentry? They come to the dungeon with a legal right to its treasures, but have to uphold certain feudal obligations to the locals while there

Thinking about a heroic fantasy ttrpg with an anti-progression system: play an aging adventurer, once invincible but suffering from old wounds and the ravages of time. Success is assumed, but you roll to see which of your ailments trips you up. Push yourself, worsen your condition. Go 'til you can't

I love looking at my character sheet before rolling the dice. It's one of the most immersive elements of playing a ttrpg. Can I do it? Do I have it? I can't know for certain. An underrated source of drama and tension.

@thac0mancer.bsky.social and I have not one, but two corgi-themed ttrpg settings, but I'd also be down to play Corgi D&D

Not replying because I am neither of those things, but personally I like seeing different art styles in ttrpg books. I like flipping through the book and going "Oh cool, one of these!". I was just doing that with my Exalted books, lots of styles in those.
I have a question for D&D artists and those who have created TTRPG editions.
Is it preferable to support a couple artists and feature a small variety of work in your books as long as the style isnt wildly varied, or stick with a single artist for continuity?

I thought about doing "1 like = 1 ttrpg from my collection", but I think I'd rather just occasionally talk about stuff I have (a lot of it old, rare and weird).

Here is my original copy of Mekton Z, signed by Mike Pondsmith at Project Akon. He signed and drew the arrow saying "I am here".

There's a good rules-lite game inside the Cypher system. Everything has a challenge Level, roll d20 over Level x 3 to succeed, reduce Level by 1-2 if Trained-Skilled. You're an Adjective Noun who Verbs, reduce Level by 1/invoke abilities as appropriate. GM intrusions to succeed with consequences.

Numenera goes so well with Knave. Knumenera. See?

The rules of a ttrpg system are not as important as the rules of its setting. There are many ways to mechanically represent erratic, violent behavior caused by cybernetic implants, but the setting says cyberpsychosis is "a thing". I'll take a cool setting with an unfit system over the reverse.

Instead of success/partial success/miss, consider the Risk Roll for your ttrpg mechanic: define what you want, define the risk involved, then roll to see if you avoid fully, partly avoid, or fully suffer the risks. Brief thread🧵

A ttrpg idea that hasn't quite come together: "Practically Perfect People", a society of miraculous nannies, tutors, governesses and the like protecting their wards and fighting a secret war against... something. Maybe each other?

I hope Musk doesn't buy D&D because I don't want to be sued for not playing it.

A thread with free resources (or super cheap) that we can use on #ttrpg creation.
Basically images, illustrations, vectors, fonts and so on

The Luckless Wren is a skilled flyer most of the time. It's only at the sites of weighty destiny where they seem to tumble and roll erratically before (usually) catching themselves. This is because the wrens can see the strands of fate, and are trying to perch on them. #ttrpg #worldbuilding
