asmon/gold's bullshit is the strongest argument for continuing to have distinct servers that I've ever seen. having giant streamer guilds able to just appear in your vicinity whenever the realm technology decides to plop you into the same instance sucks ass, at least with servers they're quarantined

lrt I think the main thing that coming from wow originally gave me was a deep appreciation for xiv's writers even ATTEMPTING to tell a coherent, mostly retcon-free linear story. and the fact that everything from previous expansions doesn't just get chucked out a window the second a new one comes out
