Why isn't this a bigger deal? Why does the police chief even have press conferences? Yet alone using his position to influence an election.
Fire Chief Bob Day for having a uniformed press conference and trying to interfere in a fucking election

Sorry, the guys who got a literal Nazi rehired with back pay have now discovered responsibility for prior statements?

Green wasn’t a public official when he made the comments. They were so long ago I wasn’t even the same gender. This is beyond stupid.

We won’t lose because we won’t be out organized 🙏🏼 thank you to everyone who has shown up to canvass, phone bank, donate, get a yard sign, etc.

We’re fighting for you because you fight for us.
knocked some doors tonight.✨

the corporate class is coming after Green, Morillo, and Koyama Lane, but I just don’t think Portland is gonna let us down.

I kinda feel like the conservatives are underestimating the amount of solidarity created among Portlanders who were tear gassed and beaten by the police in 2020.

And the police tear gassed a looooooooot of Portlanders.

I know a paper covered how much each councilor talked in meetings. I want to see how often they interrupt each other (which is out of order but almost never called out) as well as leaderboards for interrupters and interruptees.
If you’re over the age of 40, decorum rules don’t apply to you. You can yell at, interrupt, and demean your younger colleague and it will go unaddressed lol

neither here nor there but when I looked into what happened to my beloved Portland critical mass bike rides I learned they were sabotaged out of existence by the Portland Police Department
"Biel looks at why a city so bike-friendly as Portland has virtually no Critical Mass ride, while cataloging the ways the Portland Police Department has sabotaged local riders and historic activism"

My city, my councilor
Here is my full statement on the tweets I made in 2020 regarding the police. The PPA, PPB, Mayor and several of my colleagues have all made statements following that Oregonian piece. The public deserves to know what I think about that and stand for - then and now.

I mean, yeah? What kind of environmental lawyer signs off on this deal?
Clark says she's open to learning more but signals that the attorneys have told her she can't act.

Novick says he's upset that Morillo insinuated that if he won't move on a franchise agreement he doesn't care about climate change (which is an unhinged interpretation of what she said)

I'm a big believer in redemption and Steve Novick just does not want to do it because then he'd have to admit his younger female colleague is so much smarter than he is.

Steve Novick has the worst political instincts I've ever seen.

A younger colleague makes a generational plea to you where you could walk through an open door, be seen as a hero, and sail to re-election and instead you accuse her of saying you don't care about climate change and look like a jerk.

"Artificially generating problems" is a good summary of the whole thing
New Yorkers should know whether the apartment they’re looking at is real.

That’s why we’re working to require apartment listings to clearly disclose when images and videos have been generated by AI.

Finding a home in New York is hard enough without artificially generating more problems.
Is That Fireplace Real or A.I.?
Listing sites are littered with homes with fake fireplaces, improved views and virtual landscaping, raising false advertising concerns.
