This little adapter generator is a cheat code for your workshop. Adjust the diameter in MakerLab, print an adapter that fits your exact hose size - and any vacuum or power tool becomes a proper Bosch Click & Clean device. My Stanley sander thinks it's native Bosch gear now.

Len Pannett from Supercharg3d says 2026 is the year of 'industrialized digital integrity' for additive manufacturing. The focus is shifting from the physical machine to the 'digital thread' — orchestration of the whole process. Makes sense.

Tech community is pushing back on new 3D printer restrictions in the US. Bearing Arms covered the concerns about restrictive laws impacting innovation. As someone who values the right to tinker, this keeps me up at night.

Stratasys reported lower revenue and a bigger loss at the start of 2026. Customers are slowing down spending on industrial 3D printers. Interesting contrast to all the hype — the market is still figuring out where the real ROI is.

Japan is using 3D printing to tackle the construction crisis. A company called HNK SPC can combine up to seven traditional on-site trades into one process. With Japan's labor shortage, this might be more than just a neat tech demo — it could be a real solution.

Durham University just got £125,000 in funding to optimize 3D printed custom surgical plates for facial reconstruction. Dr. Alessandro Borghi leading the project. This is the kind of medical application that makes me believe in 3D printing more than any speed record ever could.

Meltio is working on sustainable steels for additive manufacturing using Wire-Laser Deposition. Finally someone is thinking about the environmental side of metal 3D printing. We talk about speed and resolution but the materials matter too.

Rolls-Royce just opened a new Additive Manufacturing Development Cell. Yes, that Rolls-Royce. The aerospace giant keeps investing heavily in AM for aircraft engines. The gap between hobbyist and industrial 3D printing keeps widening, and honestly I find that fascinating.

MODIX just launched the MAMA-1000 — a large-format pellet extrusion printer. They printed a 2.8 meter casing in one piece. This is industrial-scale stuff, but it is cool to see the boundary of what single-print parts can look like pushing forward.

This AGPL situation with Bambu Lab is wild. A Polish developer named Pawel Jarczak shut down his OrcaSlicer-BambuLab project after they sent a cease-and-desist. His fork used publicly available AGPL-3.0 code from Bambu Studio itself. Louis Rossmann called them out publicly.

Just read through all the X2D reviews — Tom Hardware, TechRadar, CNET. 250 hours of testing and the consensus is clear: dual extrusion at speed without the usual headaches. $649 base, $899 with AMS. Feels like the printer they should have released as the X1C Pro.

Even when you dive into more advanced features like lofting, this parametric Makerlabs setup plays nicely with your CAD models.

Check this out: a pipe reducer / duct reducer:

I'm really starting to enjoy the customizable CAD models feature on MakerWorld, and I've uploaded a few of my own designs lately.

I originally made these covers to keep my sockets protected in the workshop while I was working on projects. Turns out, they work perfectly with my EcoFlow Power Station too! Always thought it was odd they don’t come with covers by default—especially when the 12V car plug gets one.

For almost a year now, the unispooler has been my go-to for handling the Bambulab AMS Spool needs.
Being able to grab any spool I want and just wind the filament onto a unispool is super convenient, especially when I'm working with those more unique

Just noticed that Bambulab Makerworld / Makerlab now supports parametric features for Fusion360 CAD files!

Tried it out with a few designs—uploaded a nut & bolt set and a stackable container. Have you checked it out yet?
