I think people are reading this a little wrong and I actually think it's in a way that kinda matters. He's not saying that dead kids are Good. He's saying that he's Good, so the outcomes can only be Good, and if there's a Bad outcome (like kids dying) that can't be his fault. He wants Good to happen
