Fremont County Museums is a group of three Museums in West Central Wyoming in the heart of Wind River Country. The Dubois Museum, Pioneer Museum in Lander and the Riverton Museum interpret the Cultural Heritage and Natural History of the Wind River Region

Visit the Dubois Museum in Dubois for this Children's Exploration Series. Dalyn Grindle, PhD will. The program and activity will encourage children to learn about what an Archaeologist does.

“Castle Gardens Trek” September 12th, 9am

Join the Riverton Museum and Craig Bromley for a tour of Castle Gardens. This Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek will be September 12th. Castle Gardens is a notable archaeological site that contains Native American rock art.

“Okie Manor Trek” September 5th, 9am
Join the Riverton Museum for our most popular annual Adventure Trek. Experience a rare tour of the sheep tycoon's mansion built out in Lost Cabin in 1901. Learn about the history of J. B. Okie, his family, the history of the manor, and the details of the home.

“St. Stephens Trek” August 22nd 10am

Join the Riverton Museum for our St. Stephens Adventure Trek on August 22nd. We will tour the grounds of St. Stephens mission including the church. We will learn about the history of the mission and notable people involved with its establishment.

The Fremont County Pioneer Museum will lead a Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek at the historic Ed Young Apple Orchard. Reservations are required, enrollment is limited please call 307-332-3373 or stop by to register. Carpooling encouraged.

Visit the Dubois Museum in Dubois for this Children's Exploration Series program. Museum staff will present “the ancient textile art form of Tie-dye”: The earliest form called Bandhani dates back 4000 years BC.
