Routes like this make it possible to cycle smoothly and comfortably between cities and villages, making it more attractive for commuters to choose the bike over the car.

Today, the long distance cycling route between Dutch cities Woerden and Utrecht was officially opened.

In 2024, the Dutch Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology introduced the 'Infuuts', a bike for children attached to tubes and IVs.
The bike is now available to hospitals worldwide, offering kids distraction, freedom, and joy during their hospital stay.

Nobody disputes that having access to a car in a car-dominated society is good. It gives one access to jobs, healthcare, food, education, social opportunities and more. All we're asking is for people to go one step deeper and ask why access to such basic rights requires buying and operating a car.
I grew up in Jackson Heights in Queens and we still had a car, and our lives got measurably better when we did.

Update on the #LEGO Road Bike:
Building it took up most of the morning and was really fun.
It's nice to see how LEGO used very specific existing parts for this bike, like dragon horns from the Ninjago sets for the handlebars and minifigure hockey sticks to form the rails on the saddle.

For my work, I visited an apartment complex under construction.
There is still a lot to be done in and around the homes, but in the basement of the complex, the double bicycle racks are already installed for future residents! 👌🏼

What do the world’s most successful shopping streets have in common? They’re designed for people, not cars. It’s hard to enjoy strolling, browsing and city life when you’re surrounded by 2-ton metal boxes, traffic noise and toxic exhaust. Great retail starts with great public space.

As of today, the speed limit on 270 roads in Utrecht has been lowered to 30 km/h. An important first step in improving road safety, although for now, it only involves new signage and the installation of speed cameras. The necessary redesign of many roads will take place over the coming years.

When the Dafne Schippers Bridge in Utrecht opened in 2017, the area on the other side was still empty land. Today, crossing the bridge means cycling right through a brand-new, high density residential neighborhood. For its residents, a direct link to the 'old' city lies literally on their doorstep.
