🚨Today, EU ambassadors approved the Council’s position on speeding up environmental assessments. Fast-tracking permits for “strategic” projects risks rushed assessments and public consultation.

Now it's time for MEPs to stand up for environmental rules that protect people, communities and nature.

The Government are proposing that a developer building up to 250 houses won't have to assess at even a basic level the impacts of that development on the environment.

This would be unlawful & disastrous for the environment.

Breaking news: invasion of wild boar! They destroy gardens and scatter rubbish.

This is a good example from Portugal of how media coverage can sensationalise human–wildlife conflict. A few wild boar are simply foraging through a town, where food waste is readily available

Today is the 2nd anniversary of the Nature Restoration Law coming into effect 🎂

As fires & drought cause havoc across Europe the necessity for Nature Restoration is clear.

We need to see an ambitious Nature Restoration Plan from government including dedicated funding & action on public lands.

Our mountains are on the front line of climate breakdown, and this drought is wreaking havoc on the high Alps. Rockfalls and increasingly dangerous glacier conditions are forcing guides to close routes, while mountain refuges are shutting their doors.

The Land Use Review is complex and far-reaching, which may explain the limited attention it has received so far. But the scale of the challenge demands much stronger public debate and clear government action. Credit to Caroline O’Doherty for bringing it into focus

Fish kills have happened on the Tolka River in 2014, 2018, 2023 and now 2026. We can't go on treating our rivers like this.
Inland Fisheries Ireland has launched an investigation into a “significant” fish kill in Co Dublin and has said it has established a "definite line of enquiry".

It’s thought that over 500 fish have died in the incident on the Tolka River near Damastown.
