The internet is getting weirder...so we're getting better.

This year we added a free built-in VPN, AI features you can enable or block, split view, and more privacy tools.

And we’re not done yet. Coming soon: a cleaner, more modern Firefox with new ways to make it your own. mzl.la/fxwhatsnext

Firefox 157 drops today, bringing back Compact Mode, this time with its own dedicated setting.

During early testing many of you shared that you didn’t want to lose density in the new design. That feedback directly impacted this release.

The web has changed a lot over the last few years, and we've been changing with it. Our new Firefox design ships September 29 with FX 157. If you haven’t tried it out on Nightly yet, here’s what you can expect 🔽 1/4

We believe an open web starts with choice. That includes AI models.

We’re excited to be partnering with Mistral to bring open-source AI to Firefox Smart Window beta and expand access to France, with French-language support.

A fingerprinting script from Alibaba’s AliExpress was invasive enough someone noticed when it interrupted their headphone's bluetooth connection.

In response, one of our team wrote up how Firefox has largely eliminated WebAudio fingerprinting 👇 ritter.vg/blog-webaudi...

For years, Firefox users asked for Startpage.

A billion+ private searches a year. One of their most requested search engines.

Starting today, we're built into Firefox across five European countries.

No extensions. No workarounds.

Our support for uBlock Origin isn't going anywhere.
Microsoft Edge is about to lock out older ad blockers, just like Chrome did. Microsoft’s plan for Edge means that uBlock Origin users are losing one of their browser options www.theverge.com/tech/976880/...

Reminder that you can still just...use ad blockers on Firefox. Wild concept, we know.

If you've used Multi-Account Containers for years, good news: containers are now being built right into Firefox so you can organize your browsing by context.

This is a preview release, so not every add-on feature has made the jump yet. Keep the extension running alongside it if you need it.

One of the most common pieces of feedback we got about our built-in VPN was the data cap. For the summer, we removed it. Unlimited bandwidth + 28 browsing locations are now available through Aug. 31 blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/f...

Not saying you should watch the matches while working this week. Just saying Firefox lets you pin videos to your screen and check live scores from the homepage.

Do with that information what you will.

Pro tip: Firefox now includes a built-in VPN with location selection. You can mask your IP address and reduce tracking at the network level, not just on sites.
