She is the world's biggest, most hateful transphobe, and is continually campaigning for legislative violence against trans people She has been cited in court cases in both the US and UK that have further oppressed us for the crime of wanting to live our truth. You sell pride merch, you claim to support your customer based and say we're all welcome, but when you do this you show trans people are in fact NOT welcome at UV. You would rather make money and further enrich a hateful bigot than support your trans customers. Frankly, I am crushed. You should know better. You should BE better. I have been a customer for years and your clothes have brought me so much joy. And you just said you don't care about me as a customer, or as a human being. This is less about being anti data analysis and more about the way that the flippant attitudes of the people who deliver their analyses can be broadly alienating to people with qualitative experiences that don't match their findings. Their desire is to scold and feel superior, not to educate.

Senator Omar Fateh is a dedicated public servant. The continued attacks on his character by the All of Minneapolis PAC are an affront to our DFL values and run afoul of how we should conduct ourselves on the campaign trail. CD5, SD62, & MPLS DFL issued the following statement.
On the morning of Tuesday, July 14, All of Minneapolis – a PAC dedicated to uplifting the wealthiest voices in Minneapolis – sent an email that brazenly attacked Senator Omar Fateh’s character by comparing him to disgraced congressional candidate from Maine, Graham Platner, who ended his campaign last week after credible allegations of sexual assault were made public. All of Minneapolis has a pattern and unhealthy obsession with attacking "far-left" candidates (their words, not ours) that would have you compare Senator Omar Fateh, a respected legislator with over half a decade of legislative experience and multiple policy wins like tuition-free public college, fentanyl test strips, and expanding college sexual misconduct reporting to Platner – that the All of Minneapolis boogeyman, DSA, refused to endorse. Typically, we would ignore the fear mongering, handwringing, and right-wing rhetoric that is a staple of All of Minneapolis correspondence. However, their unfounded, unwarranted, and disgusting attack on Senator Fateh's character and continued disinformation campaign regarding the 2025 Minneapolis DFL Convention is beyond the pale. In an era of increased political violence, we cannot sit silently by while Karin Birkeland and the All of Minneapolis PAC continue to push irresponsible, false, and dangerous rhetoric. Organizers and candidates in the DFL deserve safety and respect, not these slanderous attacks. Congressional District 5 DFL, Senate District 62 DFL, and Minneapolis DFL condemn the statements written by the All of Minneapolis PAC regarding Senator Fateh and demand that All of Minneapolis issue a retraction and public apology.

On Friday, July 10, PEN America President Dinaw Mengestu resigned from his position following PEN America's publication of a report on Israeli and Jewish writers who "[face] rising isolation and exclusion." The report reiterated PEN America's "longstanding position" against cultural and academic boycotts—a stance we understand to have been formed in reactionary opposition to specifically Palestinian and pro-Palestinian political speech. We salute Mengestu's principled decision. We also take this opportunity to remind PEN America that the normalization of Zionism will never again be tolerated by the literary community they claim to serve. Our grassroots pressure campaign, which included a successful and widespread boycott of the organization, made that very clear. PEN America must learn from the lessons of the past three years and recommit itself to Palestinian writers. There can be no freedom to write without a free Palestine. few other recent events at PEN America that further illustrate the organization's commitment to Zionism: • Earlier this year, PEN America published a statement of support for Israeli comedian and alleged war criminal, Guy Hochman, following the cancellation of two of his events in New York and Los Angeles in January due to sustained pressure by organizers. In a 40-page dossier, the Hind Rijab Foundation detailed Hochman's public incitement to genocide of Palestinians, including his call for "mass killing and extermination" of Palestinians, use of nuclear weapons against Gaza, celebration of civilian deaths, and call for the starvation, displacement and collective punishment of Palestinians. PEN America has since retracted its statement. • PEN America does not extend this level of support to Palestinian authors. On December 3, the LAPL cancelled a talk with Palestinian-American author Jenan Matari and anti-Zionist Jewish writer Nora Lester Murad, claiming that it was inconsistent with its mission and policies. After the abrupt cancellation, Matari and Murad sought the support of PEN America, to no avail. In an email to PEN America following their support of Hochman, Matari and Murad state: "In essence, PEN has publicly stated that Hochman's right to dehumanize Palestinians should be defended, while its silence about the LAPL's censorship communicates that our right to humanize Palestinians is not worthy of protection." • This past May, PEN America appointed writer, Hebrew translator, and self-proclaimed Zionist Yardenne Greenspan to the jury of its PEN/Heim Translation Fund Grants. Most recently, Greenspan has been promoting the book of her husband Shai Davidai-the disgraced Columbia professor who played a central role in the campaign leading to the deportation proceedings against student activist Mahmoud Khalil. Greenspan believes Zionism is "neither an agenda of superiority nor a doctrine of expansionism" and has previously tweeted that "globalize the intifada" constitutes a direct threat to Jewish life. While PEN has not made the list of jurors public, WAWOG received exclusive information from a jury member who withdrew after learning of Greenspan's involvement.
