My book is out!

When Grandma disappears, ten-year-old Alex goes searching and stumbles into a new world, one that is a dangerous magical reflection of her own. Giant talking chickens, hungry night creatures, a tyrannical rooster, and a dark witch wait for her on the other side.
Two years ago today, I released Hannah and Gregory, my self-pub debut!
It started life as just 1 of 13 stories in an indie horror anthology. The seasonal anthology is no longer in print, so I expanded my story and tuned it up, and gave it a second life.
Reviews have been kind.

#FantasyIndiesOctober day 1: Introduce yourself and WIP

I'm Faust, author of primarily fantasy horror stories, and this month I'll mostly be talking about my soon-to-release novella, The Town that Banished Death!
My previous two novels were also Halloween-adjacent releases 🧐

#FantasyIndiesSeptember day 30: Monthly wrap up

I wasn't active most of the month (or the past, like, four), but I'm slowly returning!
Next month will be a big one. Two book anniversaries and one new release! I never intended to be a Halloween writer, but the life seems to have chosen me.

#FantasyIndiesSeptember day 29: Are you/MC introvert, extrovert, or ambivert?

I'm SUPER introverted, and most of my characters end up so, too. I need to make a conscious effort to write extroverted characters because otherwise I don't notice. My brain struggles to even realize it's possible.

#FantasyIndiesSeptember day 28: Thoughts on DNFing books?

I generally try not to so I can at least say I've done it/understand something I've seen referenced before, but ultimately life's too short to force yourself to do things you don't want. Society already makes you do enough of that.

#FantasyIndiesSeptember day 26: Snippet Saturday

I believe I've posted this before, but it's been a while. I've always been fond of this scene.

#FantasyIndiesSeptember day 25: Free Friday

I haven't been here in a couple months so I feel a little bad doing this, but I think this is as good a time as any to make a soft announcement:
My book is coming out next month! The Town that Banished Death will get a formal release date Soon™️

Just heard that my sister and her son have started reading Fowl Blade together 🥹

I'm not writing tonight but I am working on this WIP's map and coming up with more worldbuilding. That counts, right? Right...

I might impromptu start writing a ghost story 🤔
September 12, 2026 at 12:26 AM
Mornin', #5amwritersclub! I'm still very tired, but I'm here! That has to count for something.
Let's see what I can get done.
Best of luck to you all.

I hope my cats know how much I love them

Good morning, #5amwritersclub! I have not been here in a LONG time. I hoping to make progress on my dark fantasy series hither-too only known as "captured princess wip". It has been VERY slow going so far.

Best of luck to you all 🫡

The Indies Sale has been good to me. If even one person gives the book a shot, it'll all have been worth it.

I'm a little late, but the Narratess Indie Sale is happening! Check out the HUNDREDS of free/discounted indies books! You might even see a familiar face there 🧐

I did one final read-through of The Town that Banished Death before I begin the publication process, and yep, it made me cry. Every time I've read this story, I've gotten teary-eyed. I find myself humbled at the beautiful story I've created.

Upwards and onwards.

A word of good news: I'm six chapters into this story, so that's something. Very crude work so far, but c'est la vie

Giving the Narrates Indies Sale a shot this go around.

I had a dizzy spell. It only lasted a little while, but it still scared me a lot. I had an awful, extremely long dizzy spell a couple years ago that was the worse physical sensation I've ever had, and ever since, any time I get dizzy or nauseous it freaks me out.

Continuing my tradition of finishing a project and then frantically switching between half a dozen others for a half year before (hopefully) settling on one.

This most recent existential crisis has landed me back on The Castle Guard.

I'm writing again. I've been so detached from all my creative works, I figured it's best just to start from scratch. Not like I have much at all to make up.

Kidnapped Princess WIP starts anew.

Ooohkay, while making breakfast this morning, I was struck by an old-school bolt of inspiration for a new novella/novel. It seems very promising.

#FantasyIndiesJune day 30: Monthly wrap-up

Not a whole ton to say. I got decent progress on The Comet of Satyros at the start of the month but have done almost nothing the last 2-3 weeks. I feel myself pulled between numerous projects, with no idea which one I should focus on.
