I went to see the Bayeux Tapestry and was lucky enough to avoid the queues and the crowds on a press viewing.
I tried to put aside a hundred preconceptions from history books, illustrated plates and internet pics, and to look at it afresh as work of sequential art.

in fact if a moral argument even exists, it emerges from a work as a whole; relating to a character is often a distraction from that end
