The transfer window closes Sept. 2. This FO has until then to show this fanbase that it's serious about competing this season and not just using this as a year to get rid of the previous regime's players. Meaningful acquisitions must be made or the backlash will be rightfully severe.

A thing about SGs that maybe gets lost until you get up close is that they are work. This can be mental labor in improving relations with team/stadium ops/whoever, and it can also be needing a screwdriver or hauling a massive, uncooperative heap of fabric during a gale warning
