Bentley has been the last holdout of the Auto Club kitties- he’d admit that humans were okayish to be around in terms of snack distribution, but scritches and pets were ENTIRELY off the table. He’s been in foster for a full year now and today we finally had a breakthrough!! 😭❤️

The calls for help don’t stop coming and we are still in desperate need of a couple more fosters. We supply everything you need and handle all the vet care and adoptions, you just give them a safe place to land for a few weeks. We have a request for these 6 plus a friendly mom & 5 babies. 🎉🎉🎉 Mercedes has been at the rescue since she was a baby and, with the exception of some sneaked pets while she was engrossed in dinner, has NEVER accepted any touch. This week I finally started to be able to get a few pets in as she walked by, and LOOK AT HER TODAY!!! 😭

Sweet Coffee yesterday started running to the litter box constantly, straining to pee. She was just spayed 2 days ago, so it may be related. So vet time it is, poor little girl.

I love the reaction of cat lovers upon seeing a cat. Every single time the level of excitement is like they've read about cats for decades but never actually seen one in real life and they're SO EXCITED. Every. Single Time. Even if it's the hundredth cat they've seen that day.

With Cid making such good progress & not going back to his colony, he’s taking up the space I had planned to use for Kickstand, which leaves me looking for someone who wants to foster Kicks (or Cid!) He needs someone experienced socializing shy cats, preferably close to Newark, DE.
I successfully trapped our wobbly gas station boy, Kickstand. We strongly suspect he has cerebellar hypoplasia, a non-degenerative condition that affects his balance and coordination. We’re going to get him fixed and then see if he would like to transition to being a friendly guy.

Another reminder to keep a cheap leash in your car for lost dog encounters. Found this very sweet girl wandering a parking lot next to a busy road. She is now on her way to our local (no kill) shelter. Hopefully she’ll find her people!!

Eggs Benedict and the rest of the Breakfast Club are feeling much better after a course of Panacur (for intestinal worms/parasites.) They are back to scarfing food and going full honkers bonkers. As it should be!

The Breakfast Club has had sad tummies the past few days and poor Eggs Benedict has lost 100g in two days, so it’s vet time. Hopefully some fluids and anti nausea meds will help him feel better.

I’m putting out a call for a short term foster for Sir This Is A Wendy’s (Dave for short). He’s ear tipped but we don’t have any way to trace who had him fixed or where his colony is, I don’t have any foster space for him currently, & the local SPCA protocol is to turn him back out after stray hold.

What is our responsibility in rescue, where does TNR end? Cid here is the last male cat we had left to fix at Final Fantasy colony. In October, he was a large, robust beefy guy. By January, he was just a shadow of himself, frail & thin. He evaded us until now, and limped under the drop trap at last.
