Hello bluesky world
This loco has been an experience I tell thee! I won't be picking up any more of these Hattons 66s even if this one was cheap. Blew 2 decoders, lost numerous axle boxes and I removed the ladders before they snapped off completely. Will stick to Acc/Bac for all things 66 from now on!

Bit of an 80's feel on the layout today. This loco rarely comes out these days!

Shed heaven. Didn't realise I had acquired so many class 66's. Keep finding myself looking for more. It's not even my favourite loco 🤣

The loco that started it all... Bachmann 66 Kernow Exc. Bought new at exhibition in 2016 for £75 as it was missing an outer sleeve. Only right that it has been updated with HM7000, megabase speaker and illuminated models lighting mods. Beginning to thin out my collection but this one won't be sold!

Tested out a new soldering iron by fitting the illuminated models lighting kit into an older Bachmann 66. Reasonably simple with a steady hand and a bit of magnification. What a difference it makes too! #TMRGUK

NEC National Festival of railway modelling today, bit of a trek up and back from the south coast in the rain but had a great time at the show. Promised myself I wouldn't buy any more locos this year but appear to have came home with a DMU on a technicality 😂

Brand new tooling sound fitted Bachmann 47 for £177. There are definitely model railway bargains out there to be had if you look around. This came from Model Railways Direct. Great service, ordered Friday, arrived Saturday!

At nearly 3ft in length per set, I'm glad I only bought two packs of @revolutiontrains.bsky.social WIAs. Can't wait to run these. They really look the business! #TMRGUK

Not posted for a while. Been busy enhancing my basic layout. Backscene and a bit of scatter makes all the difference!

New (old 2020) bachmann 66 joins the fleet. £60 eBay win. Nice to see some bargains to be had still there on occasion!

HM7000 Bluetooth firmware update time. I'm now up to 4 of these sound decoders now. All using megabase or iPhone speakers from Roads & Rails.

Haul from the NEC NFMR today. Thought it was a great show and can only get better. Some noticeable absences but lots of smaller traders to make up for it. Weather not ideal but still worth the 2.5 hour drive up. I'd go again tomorrow if it was closer! #BSMRGUK

Managed to fix my NCE PowerCab by replacing the encoder. Hardest part was getting the failed one out. I shouldn't have doubted my soldering skills as it's working perfectly! #BSMRGUK

Deleted my model railway X account. Tried to reset the algorithm by starting again but was soon pigeon holed down a far right wing agenda and followed by umpteen lady-bots. F that!
