Did you know that many framework knitters were also top cricketers? We have partnered with @trentbridge.co.uk and together have produced an exhibition telling this fascinating story. Today volunteers from FWK & Trent Bridge recreated how our workshop yard would have been used for impromptu games.

Our latest Chapel Gallery exhibition profiles emerging talent, showcasing work from Textile Design & Fashion Textile Design students from De Montfort University in Leicester. Some great pieces on display until 9 August @dmu.ac.uk
Four pieces of student work, featuring pink and cream textiles as a spring collection. A striped textile design, plus image of model wearing the final cardigan design. A display of textiles from Bengal, where old sarees are re-purposed as throws.

Another hot weekend, another free knit in public event. Our Summer House is bedecked with La Tricolore as we celebrate Bastille Day & Les Tricoteuse, the radical knitters of the French Revolution. All day tomorrow, so bring your knitting and join us. Please note our guillotine will not be in use.

So far a lovely collection of knitters (what is the collective noun?) for our Knit in Public event. Even Boris the labradoodle is keen to show off his knitted coat.

Our Knitted Green Man made for our May Day celebrations is now on public display in our Chapel Gallery. He will eventually live in the actual museum, but we especially wanted all those who made and sent leaves to us to see the final glorious result.
