(She / her.) Christian, Wife, Mum, 1st year ordinand. Late-diagnosed autistic. Husband and kids keep me (relatively!) sane. Views my own.
Back from a weekend at Cuddesdon. Lots of new people, new information and new challenges that lie ahead. But also wonderful, supportive staff / students, full breadth of tradition and each person welcomed and valued for exactly who God made them to be.

Now is it nearly bedtime? (Just a tad tired!)

Back here again tomorrow for more opening up my brain and pouring information into it until it's all swooshing about nicely! Hoping it's not too powerpoint heavy (ghosts of Insets Past!) Pray for this neurodivergent little bunny.

Yay! Bishop has finally confirmed Stage 2 recommendation (he's a busy chap, tbf) and I start training PT at Cuddesdon in Sept.

Can't say I've loved the process as an autistic (probably AuDHD) person but am incredibly thankful for those who have given wisdom / calmed my angst at various points.

Have survived last two hot and sticky days in Woking (today was 35 degrees, last night not pleasant!) at Stage 2 selection panel. I think all went as well as it could. And now we wait.

Weather forecast for Wed and Thurs 32 and 33 degrees Celsius, respectively, 17 at night. Please pray that I sleep and am generally able to keep calm and carry on.

Who am I meant to go to for pastoral support throughout this whole process? Incumbent has previously said (A)DDO but (A)DDO is far more procedural than pastoral. Maybe I need to be meeting my SpirDir more often than I am?

Has a (conditional) offer of a place, term dates and a reading list. Alternating between excitement and abject terror.

Stage 2 forms all but complete - meeting with bishop in calendar.

And for today, small task of all-age service on Ascension - please pray that the bubbles behave themselves and float upwards!

Back from Easter Triduum which was lovely if incredibly intense (I asked for immersive and got immersive!) Also made it to pre-dawn service on Easter Sunday - v proud of myself!

Now written first draft of next Sunday's sermon on 'doubting' Thomas.

Couldn't think of a more challenging, encouraging and ultimately uplifting way to spend my birthday. Excellent keynotes, workshops, plenty of food for thought. And to share it not just with my hubby but a whole roomful of my tribe was gorgeous x

Ok, preaching peeps - would you use the book / film Chocolat re temptation? Is in a Local Ecumenical Partnership (i.e. more Free church) context so wouldn't want to offend re pagan undertones of one protagonist, although wouldn't be referencing this. Just really pertinent to theme.

@salvarmyarchive.bsky.social I zm trying to work out when my mum, then Elsie Elizabeth Bannister trained / worked at the Mothers' Hospital, Clapton and wanting to get hold of someone working in your archives section. Can you help?

Stage 1 done and dusted with lots of positive feedback. Now onto stage 2 - why do I suspect that this is where the 'fun' really starts?

Getting more useful experience (including all age service on Safeguarding Sunday which was terrifying.) May be doing kids talk on Christmas Day too. Meanwhile, stage 1 looms on the horizon. Need to prepare but not worry.

All went well this morning, I think. Absolutely loved it and had some really lovely comments from people afterwards.

Am starting to wonder whether choosing to preach on Jacob's wrestling match was taking on more than I could handle. Pun intended. Looking for commentaries and have a bit of time for ideas to percolate. though. And was definitely drawn to that passage so trusting there's something in that.
