The joys of raising a bilingual child, chapter 125.
Said child now produces beautiful sentences in freewith subjunctives in them. I have clear memories of rather painful secondary school French lessons and having to learn how and when to use the subjective.

I am trying to put together a lecture for beginner masters students on this and it is infuriating. I taught their predecessors over the years all the useful tips and tricks.

Sorry chatbot lovers but the waning of Boolean operators in most search functions on websites has made my life actively worse. You can't find anything, you can only have things suggested to you.

Regularly scheduled caveat that being kind is NOT about being "nice". Where nice will lie and "just wants to get along," kindness is about accountability, responsibility, and honesty. It will necessitate hard conversations and good boundaries. It is often about doing what's hard, not what's easy.
