"Walk in silence
Don't walk away, in silence ..."

Fuck me, that opening show was so cringe

@bangpodcast.bsky.social just catching up on pods - well done for shining a light on Colonel Petrov, the man who saved te human race in September 1983 - you know I love my cold war history! Another thing I love is punk - so those shows were fascinating

Hello @garychalk.bsky.social my wife bought me Smugglers' Inn for Christmas and it's looking brilliant up on the wall next to Lone Wolf Surrounded and Cometh the Hour. So good to have your work up in my games room!

Long before the screams of the cosmonaut Pavel Mikoyan troubled the children of the county, Hookland already had its own space phantom. The 'Dan Dare ghost' has been haunting the now abandoned British space programme at RAF Nook since at least 1962. (Depiction based witness testimony).

@bangpodcast.bsky.social best show yet fellas! I'm biased of course being a massive goth fan! Interesting that you mentioned the Doors - I believe they were the first band to be described as goth, years before what we think of as the 1980s heyday of the movement

@bangpodcast.bsky.social I have a nuclear themed misheard lyric - from Chain Reaction by Diana Ross - 'Tell Eddie Waring there ain't no salvation..'.

Caught up on @bangpodcast.bsky.social - brilliant stuff as ever! Threads! I watched it at the time - never again. Ste summed it all up in the @scarredforlife.bsky.social episode when he said that for years he was convinced he would die in a nuclear war - this is exactly how I felt in 1983-85

#Dolmenwood arrived on Monday. It's a masterpiece. Beautiful, evocative art, lovely presentation, a nice simple interpretation of old school rules which don't get in the way, 4 excellent scenarios and the fairytale setting has a wonderfully charming, fey, otherworldly quality.

@bangpodcast.bsky.social I just found a source for the 'band to dance to when the bomb drops' quote: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPdu... it's in the first minute or so

@hjdoom.bsky.social great to see another series of Popular Antiquarian starting - very funny and entertaining first episode

@bangpodcast.bsky.social Big singles that didn't appear on an album: Is There Something I Should Know? Duran Duran no.1 1983 - of course with the line 'don't say you're easy on me, you're about as easy as a nuclear war'!

Wake up Dad, it's my birthday! Happy 20th birthday Martha

@bangpodcast.bsky.social Just caught up with the latest episode - best yet! Breaking Glass is a favourite of mine - there's another more explicit nuclear track on the album - Who Needs It - well worth a listen

This is an amazingly creepy podcast series. Ghost story, psychogeography, weird fiction...all of that. Spine tingling - check it out if you like that sort of thing

I found some old 20mm plastic cowboys by Revell laying around in a draw; must have had them for 30 years. Had great fun painting them and really pleased with how they came out. Contrasts and Speed Paints

@rokminis.bsky.social Two space fleets from ROK miniatures that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. Gorgeous minis, easy to paint - looking forward to playing a few games, probably using the free Warfleets FTL from One Page Rules

"In the Lands of the North, where the black rocks stand guard against the cold sea, in the dark night that is very long, the men of the Northlands sit by their great log fires and they tell a tale..."

I've had an account here for ages but never really used it. But I've finally made the transition from the other place. I've lost the habit of posting since there was no one left over there to read them. It seems lovely here so it's time for a refresh
