I was talking with my three year old about two piece bathing suits, and then she wandered off saying "Ma, I'm going to wear a zucchini."
What's worse is that she also wants me to wear a zucchini, despite me telling her what happens with two kids crawling all over me in the pool.

It seems a good day to remind people that in the UK 3 times as many people work in Indian restaurants or for McDonalds as in the whole coal and steel industry. 5 times as many are academic staff at universities. If Labour does not understand its electorate, there is no way to appeal to it.

I'm leaning into my 40s and fearing the apocalypse so I'm getting really into container gardening. I have had a real issue with squirrels though. I've sprinkled red pepper flakes everywhere and stuck shiny pipe cleaners in the pots to try to deter them. They say pinwheels scare them away...

I want to take my kids to a Ren Faire fantasy day so we can be/see fairies but I need to think about my costume and I miss costuming and also I have low self-esteem at the moment. I'd appreciate costume inspo to reverse the downward spiral.
