Drawing of Fungus referencing a page from a Little Bear book. Fungus stands in front of a tree with a large sheet of paper pinned to it. On the paper is a drawing of Fungus making an intimidating face. Fungus looks up at the drawing, paws grasping a long handle brush, with a big smile. They say to themselves “This picture makes me happy,”

I didn’t think this one would sell, there were no bids when I checked yesterday, but someone did. Thank you whoever!

acrylic and urine on paper wrapped copper clad panel. The specter of an anthropomorphic dog with a scarred body in a fog of turquoise, blues, and greens. Its paw looks as if it is pressing on the panel surface like it was a window. Its head tilted, eyes drooping, glistening with with dried urine. It calls out silently for something it can't reach, maybe hope, maybe relief.

Id Thief
Alt text and description: A mixed-media acrylic gouache painting in a flat graphical style on an aluminium panel showing a mechanised snake man waving and holding out his wallet with his ID inside, along with 6 other plastic cards you might find in a wallet, bank cards, union cards, cards from work. The mechanical parts of the snake (the snake is me, Asher) are not painted, they're just the bare aluminium from the panel showing through. The wallet is an actual physical wallet that sticks out from the plate with a wallet insert that lets the cards fold out. None of the cards are valid anymore. The main ID card is hand painted with a little cartoonish portrait of me winking, and some key details like my name, the date I was first drawn, and my sex (neutered✅). The rest of the ID cards are defaced in different ways to remove a name from them; Gouged out, scratched out, burned off, covered with a sticker of a long pepsi, stapled over with a piece of wood, and the last card is cut in half and then glued back together without the name on it. The cards give you a little snippet of my life story. This piece is about a few things to me: how I changed the name I go by in person recently to Asher (that's me for real now!) and the very same day I started doing that I had to cancel my bank card because my identity got stolen because of a website hack. I'm sorta implying that my id has been stolen and replaced with my fursona's, like a sort of name-stealing fae creature. The title is also a bit of a pun on id and ID. Surrounding that it's vaguely about recent global crackdowns on privacy, anonymity, and adult content, that demand people hand over their IDs to access everything from facebook to facesitting. I thought there'd be something funny about posting my (old, invalid) cards online with the three wacky digits on the back, but I chickened out a bit and blurred them just in case. When the government comes a-knocking you don't get to blur them.

smokers room
Photo of an arrangement on my hotel room table. A needle felted paw is holding a smoking needle felted cigarette over a glass ashtray. Behind the ashtray is a needle felted rainbow chain collar with a toy capsule and felted dog tag attached. The dog tag has “FUNGUS” felted into it. Behind the collar is a green glass lamp and a telephone with a red light on. I have been going cold turkey from actual cigarettes for five days now yay

Something foreboding but tiny with glowing red eyes in a dark basement. Not done yet will delete maybe. Fun story: my sister’s friend was really desperate to commission one of these from me. She kept offering me more and more money every time I saw her. Last time she offered me $1k, or close to that. Not sure how serious she was. Anyway, you can’t buy me to make art or whatever for you and I don’t think I could ever do commissions. I do not have the mental fortitude and discipline to do that. I feel like I’m a barely functioning artist most of the time anyway, my head feels so junked up and unfocused! I’d just get even more frustrated. It’s fun to make art as gifts for friends anyway. :)
