Yep, this is bad. And aso looks like incompetence when the Tories have condemned Reform for doing the exact same thing.
I've been a member of the lobby for well over a decade. Not a single one of my lobby colleagues has said a word about the Conservatives banning me from their conferences, without any explanation.

Contrast with the US where even Fox News stood in solidarity when Trump banned news outlets he disliked

The ban comes just weeks after the Conservative leader called Reform's barring of critical journalists from their conference an "authoritarian" attack on the free press

Ridiculous behaviour from the Tories. Dealing with unfriendly journalists is a basic requirement for a political party!

I cannot think of one good reason they could have for doing this. Nor even a bad one. They should fix it.

I share Ganesh's irritation with "Good Growth" but I find the rest of this rather facile, honestly.

If your solution to the UK's sluggish growth is "Cut pensions, spend it on tax cuts" I do need you to articulate to me why we're not living through Jeremy Hunt's utopia.

At least Burnham doesn’t pretend to care about growth
Unlike his predecessors, Britain’s prime minister is a fairly honest stagnation-ist

You know, children, there was a time, not so long ago, when serious journalists - even right wing propagandists cosplaying objectivity - would applaud an experienced, even-tempered Foreign Secretary, like Hague or Hammond, being a bit dry, rather than jumping on stuff as if they were Perez Hilton.

The piece unfortunately conflates illegal e-motorbikes with legal e-bikes, which makes it hard to decipher what's happened

I spend my week crossing london on a bike and increasingly that means cycling alongside Wayve/Waymo robotaxis. it’s uncomfortable. they give you so much space, don’t do a close pass while accelerating as lights go red. So unnerving if you cycle on assumption everyone’s mental and wants to kill you.

I don’t know. You can over complicate these things.
Much easier to just ask ‘is there a negative output gap?’
If the answer is no, you probably don’t want more expansionary fiscal policy.

The Palmer we're seeing now would have been picked, but the Palmer we're seeing now does not bear much resemblance to the seemingly unfit and unfocused Palmer we saw last year. Those injuries really took their toll.

Reporter on Bond Market: The yields have come back up since then. Have you talked to Bessent about another type of intervention.?

Trump: The ultimate intervention is our military. And if we have to use that, we will.

Bbc #Wato (Jonny Dimond) just did a whole item on the Thames barrier needing replacing early… without once mentioning the >reason< why!: ie Without mentioning human caused climate chaos / sea-level rise.
In the middle of this summer of extreme climate impacts, that’s a stunning fail.
