Intro update!
My postdoc is wrapping up and I'm pleased to share that I will be staying on in Criminology at the University of Ottawa as an Adjunct Professor, continuing research on housing and criminalization.
I'll also be teaching courses at Carleton in architecture and sociology 2025/2026.

I don't keep kosher but for holidays it's nice to get some special treats. Biked out to College Square Loblaws today.
Oy, the tariffs have made the kosher section untenable. I take it just about any shelf stable food stuff comes from American distributors.
At least baked goods came from Montreal.

My headphones died at 1.5k. I ran sans music for the first time in a long time. It was nice on the Quebec side. Not so nice along Champlain bridge and parkway. Boo traffic noise.

I was thankful my bike was still there after locking up near the Rideau Centre yesterday. I had a bad feeling.
AND I just noticed I must have forgotten my lights were still on (I don't usually leave them on) because front and back lights and mounts are now missing.

Bike lanes are not a reward for good cyclist behavior! They are infrastructure proven to make cities safer for ALL ROAD USERS. Whatever way cyclists have wronged you is irrelevant to the discussion!
