Exposing the harms done to people subjected to third-country removals has always been my No. 1 priority in the reporting I’ve done since May 2025. So I am gratified when other journos cover it.
And, it sucks to be boxed out of projects by people you’ve had meetings with.

There just isn't a legitimate solution to this which doesn't result in thousands of people currently working in the Federal government going to prison for many years
This will make it nearly impossible to file habeas petitions, because attorneys won’t even know what federal district their client has been moved to to stage for their removal.

More important than ever to use Habeas Flight Watch from @jjindc.bsky.social and @lexingtonalarm.bsky.social to get Habeas petitions as soon as someone is captured so they can’t be moved into the gulag archipelago. Especially for people in MN, NYC and Chicago!

Well now the problems I had looking up specific people last week makes sense.
And yes that is deeply messed up. If someone is in ICE custody, they should be findable, full stop. It's already bad enough that people disappear from the system while they're being transported somewhere else.

Stay tuned for more on this from mainstream reporting hopefully later today, but Bob's got the gist of it; last week, it appears that ICE began disappearing people from the Online Detainee Locator System the moment they get a final order of removal.
