i've had the chance to enjoy my new pair of ATH-R50x's properly, and I can confidently say that, for 170e, these are possibly the best first pick for open-backs for me.
not only are these good as studio reference headphones, it's surprisingly lightweight (~200 g), it enhances longevity by having-

i can't believe i spent an entire summer healing from a bad ear infection, almost makes it feel like i completely wasted it all when that time coulda been spent making music or smth. makes me feel sad thinking about it now. but, at least i'm back on my feet now, rather than never.
