go.bsky.app/75SvR2M - Who am I missing?

~got bored this afternoon, do forgive me. But on a serious note would love to know who I haven't discovered on here yet (or mistakenly omitted due to the sheer amount of people)
My newest blog post: a short rant about how two adjacent communities are using the word non-local gate and we’re all getting very confused: grageragarces.github.io/dqc_articles...
Non-local gates are better in some architectures!

Finally back in Edinburgh for Fringe. Saw shitfaced Shakespeare. Quite fun. The premise is that one of the classically trained actors in the play is indeed shitfaced and the others must adapt the play to their whims whilst trying to stay serious. We somehow ended up with a puppet father in Hamlet.

I'm in Paris this week visiting VeriQloud! If you're working in the Paris quantum ecosystem and would like to meet up for a coffee and/or show me your awesome quantum lab, message me! I'd love to visit some of the many people working on fantastic projects around the city, despite the heat.

On a brilliant twist of fate I met the engineers running eduroam a couple of weeks ago. Felt like meeting superstars, & fun fact Helsinki is apparently not the only airport with eduroam! Others include Stockholm and Luxembourg. Even they are amazed and how well the project has gone down since 2002
Brilliant sightings at QCTiP

New short paper exploring how variational quantum circuits (a type of QML circuit) can be either trainable, cut affordably, or non-simulable, but probably not all three.

For the past 70 years, scientists have taught us that female mammals are born with a finite ovarian egg supply. In humans, that supply dwindles until menopause, when it goes bankrupt.

That dogma might be utterly wrong, new research suggests.

The biological dogma that women don’t make new eggs after birth may be wrong
Female mammals have long thought to be born with all the eggs they would ever have, but new research is challenging that consensus

Coseners was great, I missed cheese and british irony. Selling quantum to a room full of classical internet & communications architects went down quite well

Such a pleasure to have participated at NUS’s HACKAMONTH this June! Beyond grateful to my co-hackers and the staff at Singapore’s Center of Quantum Tech, for an incredible month & wonderful collaborations! One of the papers written during this time is already out, but keep an eye out for more :)

New pre-print: a quantum ring all-reduce, the primitive behind large-scale ML training. We cut online communication, enable info-theoretically private aggregation, & show quadratic/exponential advantages on gradient-conflict problems.

Quantum ring all-reduce: communication and privacy advantages for distributed learning
Machine learning models have scaled to unprecedented sizes, making training across distributed devices the de facto standard in the field. In this work, we explore how quantum communications can make ...

It would be very nice if quantum circuit benchmarking suites like MQTBench came with expected results for the circuits in 0 noise environments so that we can test against them. It's easy enough for things like W or GHZ generators but I have no clue what your Grover implementation was converging on

I have a few things to plug so I guess this needs to be a thread.

First: new paper!

What if instead of designing quantum software with H's in boxs and of weird things, what if you just play whack-a-mole with a managable set of variables.

Turns out it works!
